Emmy® and Golden Globe® nominated TANDEM COMMUNICATIONS (The Pillars of the Earth, Ring of the Nibelungs) announces the start of principal photography on its newest movie, The Lost Future. Budgeted at U.S. $7 million and shooting on location in South Africa, principal photography began on March 6th, 2010. Commissioning broadcasters are SyFy Channel (USA) and RTL Television (Germany). The Lost Future will be ready for delivery third quarter 2010.
The film is directed by Emmy® Award winner Mikael Salomon (The Andromeda Strain, Band of Brothers, The Company). Executive Producers are Jonas Bauer, Partner, TANDEM COMMUNICATIONS (Impact), Rola Bauer, Partner/Managing Director, TANDEM COMMUNICATIONS (The Pillars of the Earth) and Tim Halkin, Partner/Managing Director, TANDEM COMMUNICATIONS (Lost City Raiders) with Co-producers David Wicht (The Poseidon Adventure) and Vlokkie Gordon (The Breed) from Film Afrika Worldwide and Producer Moritz Polter (Impact) from TANDEM COMMUNICATIONS.

The Lost Future is set generations from now within the exotic and dangerous world of jungles and trackless forests - jungles that have reclaimed the world as we know it today. An isolated tribe fights for survival in a landscape overrun by terrible beasts that carry a mysterious and deadly illness.
The Lost Future is the first of three productions for TANDEM’s newly-created Action Pack(ed) genre label, featuring event action/adventure programming for the international market.
