Starz Media and TANDEM COMMUNICATIONS present a new kind of action hero

Munich, Germany (2007/04/27) - The world premiere of Painkiller Jane showed off super hero strength, coming in 2nd in the primetime slot not only with 18 to 49 year olds, but also amongst 25 to 54 year olds. The pilot of the 22-episode, hour-long series demonstrated broad appeal between men and women (males 53%, females 47%).

Star and Co-Exec Producer, Kristanna Loken (Terminator 3, Ring of the Nibelungs), graced the Croisette at MipTV with Exec Producer and head writer, Gil Grant, (24, NCIS), joining TANDEM in celebrating the launch of Starz Media’s new series internationally. „We’re not only extremely pleased with the show’s premiere, but also with TANDEM's efforts at Mip,“ reports Neil Braun, Starz Media’s President of Distribution and Marketing. „TANDEM has closed many territories already including Japan, Australia and Hungary, and we expect more to close soon.

„The elements are all there both in front of the camera as well as behind it“, explains Rola Bauer, Tandem’s Managing Director. „We’ve worked very successfully with Gil Grant before on the 66 hours of Relic Hunter, starring Tia Carrere, which proved to me that the market has a real need for strong female action heroes.“ Bauer also notes that having worked with Kristanna Loken on TANDEM's miniseries Ring of the Nibelungs, „she was the logical choice for us in title role; Kristanna not only makes for us a beautiful and intelligent ‚Jane’, but pulls off the action as convincingly as she did in T3.
